Most bone void fillers made of calcium phosphate currently available on the market are synthetically made through chemical processes and contain HAp and Beta-TCP. However, HydrOss is processed with inorganic compounds extracted from the demineralization of natural canine bone without any chemical process. Thus it provides exceptionally high biocompatibility.
Aside from HAp and Beta-TCP, HydrOss contains other inorganic compounds such as potassium, magnesium, and sodium that are essential to bone growth, which makes it almost naturally inorganic.
Particularly, HydrOss provides outstanding osteoconductive properties because of the porous, three-dimensional structure similar to the cancellous bone form gained through a special manufacturing process.
